Dealing effectively with radio and/or television interviews is an important aspect of media relations. This course is designed as an introduction to the broadcast environment. It aims to improve your confidence in dealing with the broadcast media and demonstrate interview techniques that will ensure effective delivery of key messages. The course is designed for a small number of delegates to ensure enough time for practical work.
Aim of course:
To gain an insight in to what broadcast journalists want, establish the benefits of doing broadcast interviews and de-mystify the process of being ‘on-air’.
At the end of this course you will:
- Have a better understanding of the broadcast environment and be able to prepare effectively for future interview opportunities.
- Know how to devise and deliver Key Messages.
- Have experienced ‘being interviewed’ for radio/tv*
*This course involves a high level of participation in practical role-play exercises. Delegates will be recorded in a mock-up interview situation so they can review their technique. The interviews will not be broadcast!
