Clouds in a birdbath

The Quiet Time

Some more poems, written before and during Covid-19 quarantine, in the spring of 2020.

Life certainly has a way of coming at us! I thought nine months of cancer treatment was tough going last year, but I’ve never known anything quite like this. I don’t think any of us have, hopefully we never will again.

People often ask me how I manage to keep smiling. The truth is, I don’t always! Sometimes I’m overcome with fear; but I think I’ve just learned to live for every day and appreciate what I have. There is so much beauty and love in the world, sometimes we just can’t see it because we’re focusing on something else.

Maybe we’ll all see things differently, when this is over.
